STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Students at I.S. 34/Totten Intermediate School are cool kids -- or at least they will be when the school re-opens for classes in two weeks.
A total of 90 window air-conditioners were delivered and installed at the Tottenville School this week, thanks to the support of the Department of Education, District 31; City Councilman Joe Borrelli (R-South Shore) and Borough President James Oddo.
The AC units had been on the school's budget "wish list" for some time.
"Every classroom will have an AC in it by the first day of school," elated Principal John Boyle tweeted.
