STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- New York City public schools is turning to its stakeholders for feedback in the Sixth Annual School Survey.
"We place a lot of value on the feedback from school communities, so I encourage all of our parents, teachers, and students to make their voices heard and fill out the survey by April 5," said Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott. "By allowing us to reach all corners of the city on such a huge scale, the school survey helps support our efforts to create and maintain positive learning environments for our students."
These reports use feedback to measure each school's academic expectations, communication, engagement and safety. The findings represent between 10-15% of each school's progress report grade. Last year, the survey set records with more than 960,000, or 64% of participants, contributing feedback.
Students in grades 6-12 will complete their surveys in school while parents can fill out surveys online or by mail. Teachers, and students or parents who may find the Internet most convenient, are able to complete their surveys online at www.nycschoolsurvey.org.
The survey is available in 10 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. All surveys are due by April 5.
